Success breeds success in the lifting game and CoreRFID’s track record with Lifting Gear UK (LGUK) has just landed us another major client in the same sector.
Lifting Gear & Safety (LGS) are the latest company to upgrade their legacy system in favour of a bespoke, specialist lifting equipment software. It’s a move that speaks volumes about CoreRFID’s ever-growing reputation in the lifting industry.
Part of the Axel Johnson International Group’s global lifting empire, they’ve been grafting since 2009 and now run eight locations across South Wales and the South of England. Their client list reads like a who’s who of heavy industry; though LSG dominate in the marine and ports space, they’ve got plenty more capacity under the hook. From North Sea rigs to car plants, steel mills to mining operations, and with a healthy dose of renewable energy thrown in for good measure. Operating globally, there’s no job too big for these LOLER experts.
Bespoke Lifting Equipment Software Built for Complex Operations
LGS called us in with one goal; to mirror the success of LGUK by implementing CheckedOK. But with such varied clientele comes some seriously complex requirements. We decided on a bespoke digital system that mirrors the successful Lifting Gear UK setup but tailored specifically for LGS’s operational needs.
“After receiving a strong recommendation from our sister company, LG UK, and speaking with Munzi at CoreRFID, the decision was an easy one. CoreRFID’s bespoke asset management system met all our requirements and will enable us to deliver an outstanding asset management solution to our customers, while ensuring full compliance with LOLER regulations” – Lee Abdalla, Managing Director of LGS.
Our implementation will follow a two-phase approach. Phase one focuses on getting LGS safely migrated from their unsupported legacy system onto robust, modern infrastructure. No dramatic disruptions, no lost data, no compliance headaches. Just a smooth transition that let’s them get on with running their business.

Once our core platform is bedded in, LGS will have the option to bolt on additional features including RFID tracking and advanced asset management tools. It’s the kind of scalable approach that means they’re not paying for features they don’t need today, but they’re ready when they want to level up their traceability game.
“We’re not reinventing the wheel,” explains our Managing Director, Munzi Ali. “What worked brilliantly for Lifting Gear UK provides the foundation, but every operation has its quirks and requirements. LGS needed something that fits their workflow, not software that forces them through an unsuitable process.”
This partnership reinforces something we’re seeing more off across the lifting sector; companies recognising that proper digital infrastructure isn’t just nice-to-have any more, it’s essential for staying competitive. When you’re dealing with LOLER compliance, equipment certification, and complex supply chains, having systems you can rely on makes the difference between smooth operations and administrative nightmares.
The fact that Lifting Gear & Safety chose CoreRFID based on our success with other LEEA members speaks volumes. When you understand the pain points – from certification tracking to equipment scheduling – you can build solutions that solve problems rather than create new ones.
