RFID Applications
& Use Cases

From single-site asset tracking to enterprise-wide system integration, RFID works wherever manual processes are creating problems.

RFID Asset Tracking

RFID asset tracking replaces the uncertainty of manual processes and spreadsheets with automatic, real-time identification. Hundreds of tags
are read simultaneously without line of sight, manual scanning or operator intervention.

RFID Asset Management

Knowing where an asset is tells you very little about whether it’s safe, compliant or fit for use. Accessing the full history is what turns asset visibility into asset control. RFID creates a digital twin; the link between a physical asset and the Internet of Things (IoT). Scan a tagged asset and you have immediate access
to its Digital Product Passport (DPP) – a full lifecycle record covering origin, maintenance history and end-of-life data – and they’re already playing a significant role in how businesses manage and evidence asset compliance.

Some customers use CheckedOK as a lightweight asset management system, combined with RFID tags, for exactly this reason. Its asset register, document storage and DPP functionality are built to keep your assets inspection-ready
and audit-compliant.

RFID Access Control

RFID access control replaces manual sign-in sheets, shared passwords and staffed checkpoints with automatic, credential-based identification. Every entry and exit is logged instantly across sites, shifts, contractors and restricted zones.

But RFID access control is about more than door access. Smart ticketing, train cabin access, secure vehicle entry and controlled access to equipment have all been delivered by CoreRFID.

RFID System Integration

Most businesses already have systems managing their operations. The problem is that those systems rely on data being entered manually.
They’re only ever as accurate as the last person who remembered to update them.

RFID system integration closes that gap. As assets, people or items are identified automatically, the data passes directly into your existing
business systems in real time. No manual input, no lag, no discrepancy between what’s really happening and what the system shows.

We’ve integrated RFID systems with a wide range of platforms including SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365, Sage and bespoke or legacy systems.
Where a standard API connection doesn’t exist, we can build the middleware layer that makes it work regardless. For larger operations, this
is where RFID becomes a foundational part of the IoT infrastructure rather than a standalone tracking tool.
